Friends Im TIRED!
I just got back Saturday from a great trip with one of my favorite organizations Repsonsibility.org.
Not only did I get to visit the offices of both of my senators and my House representative, but I got great food, a good time with old friends and new ones, and I got to see my favorite set of twins.
But by the time I got home on Saturday, I was exhausted.
And now it’s Monday, and I’m getting back to my routine.
Head over to my feed today ( pretty please) to learn more about my purpose for being in DC during Alcohol Responsibility Month and what exactly I was doing on the Hill.
There will be a more in-depth blog post to come.
But for now, it’s back to regular life that includes meal planning, lunch prep and a visit to the boy’s new school today, and resuming my marathon training prep this week.
It’s a reminder that Life carries on, even after a fabulous 72 hours in my hometown.
Things I read on the internets this week.
This list may contain affiliate links . If you click on a paid link, I may get paid enough to help me pay for my book addiction.
This substack promoting naps that says: “The ‘soft life’ movement, the antidote to all this toxicity of the grind, which is all about veering away from stress and prioritizing leisure, peace and meaningful relationships, is a move in the right direction, but it’s also essentially just… life. Or rather what life should be like. Anything else is unsustainable”
If you are like me, you are always looking for ways to manage your to-be-read list of books. I love these ideas from Book Riot
I read this book on the plane. It’s a cute quick read. Sometimes you need something simple just to pass the time and this was that.
This black dress from Target that I wore last week in DC.
This cute little portable charger that was perfect for travel
This idea of a “reverse to do list” reminds me of my friend’s Did it List. “The logic behind a done list is that you start the day with a zero balance, rather than working to pay off some invisible debt of not having done enough.”
My suitcase literally split in the back so now I’m considering buying this one for all of our summer travel and because I deserve grown-up luggage.
Ok that’s not all, but that’s all I’ve got this week!
Talk soon!

Thank you for mentioning the soft life. I have written about my love of naps and how important they are for me as a human and I always get emails or comments that "it must be nice." I hope you get a good grind-rest ♥️
The suitcase is beautiful. You do deserve it. I saved the soft life article to read later. And I love a did it list when I’m really struggling. It always feels amazing to see how much I actually accomplished when depression is making me feel lazy.
