Happy April Friends!

April is my favorite month by default because it has my birthday in it. But…
April also means…
It’s tax time ( which I am always always running behind on)
It’s when I beat myself up by asking what have I done with the last 365 days since my last birthday
It is the noise in my head that screams that I didn’t reach a lot of goals that I had in January and it’s already April so what am I doing with my life?
It’s..I’m going to be HOW OLD?
It’s the question of how much time do I really have left to do all the things I want to do with this life?
It’s the re-evaluation of everything…
But wonderful things usually happen in April too:
The Days are longer, giving us sunlight until around 8 pm here in Georgia
It’s the season for peonies.
April means I pack winter clothes away, shake out the sundresses, and get a formal pedicure because it’s sandal season.
It means that the pollinating of Atlanta is almost over and time to go outside and walk in Piedmont Park, enjoy the beginning of festival season, picking strawberries, and sitting on the porch while it’s raining before the mosquitos arrive to terrorize us.
It’s the month when I pretend I’m somewhat of a gardener and plant SOMETHING because I live in the South and I should.
It’s the joy of birthday wishes and the joy of hearing from friends that I won’t speak to again until next April. ( and I love that for us)
It’s the time when I sit and reflect on what I have accomplished and what I want to accomplish for the next 365 days.
I have to remind myself every April that several things can be true at the same time:
I may not have accomplished everything I wanted, but I got SOMETHING done.
I may not be where I want to be as fast as I want to be, but I am still making my way there.
Everything is not perfect…but life is still very good.
Things from the internet this week…

My Amazon cart is full and waiting for Payday ( yes I have to limit myself): I have these saved for my pre-workout meal prep .
I’m buying my cruise wardrobe a little at a time and I can’t wait to get this one piece that looks like a two-piece .
The quest for good sleep contineus with this sleep supplement/vitamin that I saw one of my fav influencers make a sleepytime cocktail with.
I didn’t read a Toni Morrison book last month, but I’m still on track. If you are reading along, this month’s book is her third: Song of Solomon. This one has always been my favorite of hers but I haven’t read it since my 20s. I’m eager for my re-read.
Well, that’s not all friends, but that’s all 'I’ve got this week!
Talk to you soon
LaShawn
Did somebody say sleep? Let us know how that sleepytime cocktail works.
I’m about 100 pages into Song of Solomon. 9 books in March!? You broke my brain.
